A Private Secondary School in Abuja, Premiere Academy says it is exploring Digital Technology with ChatGPT to improve learning.

The school Principal, Mr John Olugbenro, told our Correspondent in Abuja, that the school is leading the way when it comes to incorporating cutting-edge technologies into education.

“Recently, the school organized a sensitization programme on ChatGPT for its staff and students and the results have been nothing short of outstanding”.

He said, “ChatGPT is an AI-powered language model that can generate human-like responses to text input,
It is designed to understand natural language and used in different ways”.

“During the sensitization programme, teachers and staff members were shown how it could be used to enhance productivity and improve the learning experiences of students”, Olugbenro noted.

Mr Olugbenro explained that they learnt the benefits of ChatGPT and how it can be used to automate routine tasks, which can save teachers and staff members a considerable amount of time and energy.

“For example, teachers can use ChatGPT to generate lesson plans, and grade papers, and provide feedback to students.
They can also use ChatGPT to answer students’ questions outside of class hours, providing students with personalized attention and support”, he added.

Similarly, staff members can use ChatGPT to automate administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and responding to emails.

According to him, “in today’s world, technology is a crucial part of education. At Premiere Academy, we understand the importance of keeping up with the latest technological developments”.

“By using ChatGPT to automate these tasks, teachers and staff members can focus on more important aspects of their jobs, such as developing new teaching materials or working one-on-one with students”.

Olugbenro said that this can help to reduce burnout and increase job satisfaction, as they can focus more on the aspects of their job that they enjoy.

“At Premiere Academy, we understand that the education landscape is evolving, and students must learn to adapt and use technology to their advantage”.

For example, a student who is preparing for an exam can use ChatGPT to get practice questions and feedback on their answers. By using ChatGPT in this way, students can get the help they need when they need it, and this can help to improve their academic performance and confidence.

He stated, “We are committed at Premiere Academy to providing our students with the best possible education and that means staying ahead of the curve when it comes to educational technology. By incorporating ChatGPT into our educational programme, we are providing our students with an innovative, personalized, and engaging- learning experience that will prepare them for the challenges of the future. We are excited about this development because it means that students are in a school that is at the forefront of educational innovation”.

Mr Olugbenro added that Premiere Academy is geared towards creating a brighter future as it nurtures students to explore technology’s limitless potential!
