Nottingham Forest manager, Steve Cooper has offered an update on why Ola Aina missed the club’s 2-1 home win against Sheffield United on Friday night.
Aina was surprisingly not included in Forest’s matchday squad for the game at the City Ground.
The 26-year-old, who joined the Tricky Trees on a free transfer last month, was involved in Cooper’s side opening day defeat at Arsenal.
Cooper revealed that the Nigeria international sustained an injury in training and was not fit for the game.
The 43-year-old further said he hopes the versatile defender will be ready to face Manchester United at the Old Trafford next week.
“He tweaked his groin in training a couple of days ago. We did everything we could to get him fit, but he didn’t quite make it,” he told NottinghamshireLive.
“It’s not serious. We’ll see for next week or maybe the cup game (against Burnley) after that. It’s nothing too serious, but it will rule him out for a little bit.”
