Nigerian clergyman, Pastor Tunde Bakare has stirred reactions online with his statement on the late singer, Mohbad.
The clergyman, while preaching in Leicester, United Kingdom at a church event on Sunday, revealed how Mohbad had reaped the reward of his actions while alive.
He stated that his stage name ‘Mohbad’ which means ‘I am bad’, greatly affected him, and the friends he associated with worsened things as they contributed to his untimely demise.
Pastor Tunde reemphasized that Mohbad reaped the reward of his harvest, however, he made it clear that he isn’t blaming the singer for his death.
“My wife and I listened to a tape last night on MohBad. How many of you know MohBad? The Nigerian artiste who died at 27? MohBad.
When he was drinking and smoking and associating with evil men, he did not know that the harvest would come so soon and that he would soon be cut down at the prime of youth.
“I am not blaming him, I am just telling you. Is MohBad a good name? Moh Bad”.
His statement has sparked lots of outrage as many expressed disappointment in the clergyman.
One Ooni of Abuja wrote, “Some pastors need to look at the life their children us living before condemning other people’s children. Thank goodness man is not God
One Biggest Smoke wrote, “Na men of God spoil this country finish. Coz they talk out of point and so brainless. How does this relate, he is an artist so their names put them out to their fans. Make him go sit down na why he can’t win even primaries
One Dare Tiwa wrote, “So you mean he deserved to die
One Virtuous wrote, “This man and the people that think like this are the reason he said he added Imole to his name so he wouldn’t come off as rude”
Also sparking backlash was controversial rapper, Speed Darlington who made fun of the late talented singer for being a weakling.
It’s no longer news that before his demise, Mohbad was bullied by his former record label after he parted ways with them.
Addressing it, Speed Darlington called Mohbad a weakler as he noted how the singer could have fought back at them.
He went on to extensively explain the ways of bullies as he advised parents to train their kids to become beasts.
