Sporting Lagos head coach, Paul Offor has reacted to his side’s victory against Gombe United.

Offor’s side defeated the Savannah Scorpions 2-0 in their maiden game in the Nigeria Premier Football League at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, on Monday night.

Rivio Ayemwenre scored the first goal of the encounter in the 42nd minute, nodding home Jonathan Alukwu’s cross.

Substitute Odafe Clement added the second 19 minutes from time.

Mojeeb Odufeso missed the chance to halve the deficit when he failed to convert from the penalty spot deep into stoppage time.

Offor expressed his delight with the outcome of the game and stated that it would improve his side’s confidence.

“Yes, we totally dominated the game, ” he told reporters after the game.

“We want to improve on our confidence going into this season, so I’m very happy with the three points and the team performance.”

Sporting Lagos will travel away to Akwa United for their next game on Sunday.
