MSME’s Forum New Chairman of Governing Council Calls On Business Management Organisations in Nigeria To Register For Growth & Empowerment

The new Chairman, Governing Council, MSME Forum of Nigeria, Mrs. Rose Gyar, has called on all business management organisations in the country to register with the body so as to enjoy the benefit for growth and Empowerment.

She made the appeal at the the first quarter 2024 stakeholder engagement meeting held at the Raw Material Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Maitama, Abuja.

Mrs. Rose Gyar explained that business owners and operators that register with the Forum are in for a beneficial relationship as windows of opportunities will soon be opened.

She added that the new governance structure of the Forum will make room for effective partnership with stakeholders and delivery of enhanced services to members; provide platform to serve as a resource reservoir to support decision making.

In addition, the new structure will provide inclusive platforms for robust engagement between stakeholders, BMOs and MSME operators as well as establish a coordinated administration and management of human and material resources of the Forum to provide sustainability in the development of the MSME space.

The Council Chairman commended the management of Connected Development and Idea Lab. Agency, Civil Society Organizations (CSO) that attended the meeting for their preparedness to partner with the Forum and hoped that the relationship will raise the bar of benefits for the sub-sectoral performance.

Also speaking at the event, Barr. Ibrahim Atukpa, who delivered a paper on the topic: Strengthening Relationship Between the Forum of MSME BMOs of Nigeria and BMO For Optional Performance, listed some of the body’s achievements which included signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI), Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning (FMFBNP), Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) and Fidelity Bank.

Barrister Atukpa commended the Forum for setting up a Consultancy outfit which had secured a worthwhile business partnership with the Cross Rivers State government and enjoined members to replicate the concept in their respective States.

More than 50 MSME operators attended the meeting.
