The tribunal judgement of Monday 27, 2024 has come and gone but left an indelible mark in the political history of Kogi state and denounced the tribalistic tendencies on the electoral process in electing who govern the state at a particular tenure.
Dr. Nasir Onujabe, who is a strong advocate of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman from day one of his primaries to the election time till date, has described the victory of Ododo as political time healings and total unity of the state for sustainable growth and development.
In a statement released to GNN in Abuja, the erudite and philosophical campaigner of Ododo, advises the opposition to accept the judgement in good faith and join hands with Gov. Ododo’s administration to build the state for the benefit of all.
Dr Onujabe eulogises the Governor for his impressive starting and achievements within the shortest time of his administration.
He admonishes the party faithfuls and the entire kogites to support the administration with a view to building stronger ties for social and physical development.
Dr. Onujabe outlines the achievements of the Governor within his first one hundred days in office to include;
1. Agricultural Development through procurement of tractors for farmers and clearing hectares of land for Kogi pilot scheme on food security.
2. Security beef up through provision of 104 Security patrol vehicles for both the conventional security agencies and the local hunters combined forces.
3. Policy Reform for ease of doing business and removal of administrative registered and or unnecessary bureaucratic process capable of hindering government administrative duties.
4. Land reclamation through the award of Ecological projects in the 3 Senatorial Districts to deal with ravaging Erosion encroachment
5. Award of Road constructions in the hinterland for the economic prosperity of the state, social mobilization and general development enhancement.
6. Prompt payment of workers’ salaries and welfare improved from minimal percentage to 100% along with the Pensioners.
7. Continuity of ongoing projects from the previous administration.
8. Students care through payment of bursary award to all Kogi indigenes in tertiary institutions across the country.
9. Making kogi state an economic hub of Nigeria and indeed Africa through the ongoing upgrading process of Adogo Airstrip to Air-Cargo terminal for easy movement of services and goods in and out of the state.
10. Collaboration engagement on the completion of Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited (ASCL) and Itakpe National Iron Ore Mining Company NIOMC).
Dr Onujabe applauds all other support groups both in the state and in the diaspora for their commitments and sacrifices in the election of Alh. Ododo Ahmed Usman as Executive Governor of the state.
He equally used the opportunity to salute the entire APC structure in the state through its leadership led by Hon. Abdullahi, a.k.a Dollar, for the fantastic and enduring job done for the party’s victory at the polls.
Dr Onujabe commends the Governor for his rapid response approach in providing palliatives, foods stuffs and other relief materials to the Kogi East IDPs, who were affected by the recent communal crisis in the area.
He implores Governor Ododo to always review and rejig his administration with capable hands that are creative and strategic in ideas to help him deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Kogi state.
