The Edo State Government and a Non Governmental Organisation, the Compassion for Women and Youth Initiative (CWYI), have resolved to partner in providing enhanced healthcare and empowerment services for underprivileged communities in the State.
The Permanent Secretary in the State’s Ministry of Youth and Humanitarian Affairs, Aiyegbeni Balogun, gave this assurance while playing host to members of CWYI, who paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry in Benin City.
She said her Ministry’s support is part of the State Government’s commitments to the well-being of residents in the State.
Balogun asserted that the Ministry is dedicated to empowering young people and championing humanitarian causes across the State, with strong emphasis on collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity.
She added that the Ministry has been working tirelessly to create opportunities and to build resilient communities.
The Secretary of CWYI (Edo State Chapter), Mrs. Favour Fadah, noted that the non-governmental organisation desires a collaborative effort with the Ministry in the afore mentioned areas, which would have potential significance and impact on thousands of lives of residents in the State.
Mrs. Fadah explained that the Ministry’s collaboration would bring immense value, expertise, and credibility to CWYI’s efforts in empowering women and Youth in the State.
According to her, “the partnership has the potential to make significant difference in the lives of underprivileged communities in Edo State”.
