Fugar Community Plays Host To Dignitaries As Prince Dennis Abuda’s Remains Buried Amid Tears.

Fugar Community in Etsako Central Local Government of Edo state played host foreign and local dignitaries, who came to pay their last respect as the body of Prince Dennis Abuda was buried amidst tears and curses.

The Nigerian-American, Prince Dennis Abuda, was kidnapped and murdered in Benin city on his way to Lagos for a return flight to the United States on 30th January, 2021.

His remains left the military hospital morgue in Benin to his home town, Fugar on Thursday, 11th February for burial rites and internment.

Tears and wailing rent the air when the people heard the ambulance vehicle’s siren that conveyed the body of Prince Dennis Abuda to Fugar.

There was lying in state of his body and later followed with a funeral mass at St Theresa catholic church, Avhianwu Clan in Fugar, Edo state.

The socio-cultural apex umbrella body of all Fugar people (Fugarians), Fugar Progressive Union, FPU, once again restated its call on President Muhammadu Buhari and the Inspector General of Police to as a matter of urgency bring the killers of its illustrious son, Prince Dennis Eloniyo Abuda, to book.

The FPU President, Barrister Richard Anetekhai, said at a world press conference in Fugar, that there is serious need for the authorities to unmask and prosecute those responsible for the kidnap and murder, which he described as a terrible crime against humanity.

”We have therefore forwarded a petition to the Inspector General of Police and the Commissioner of Police, Edo State for action”.
“Considering that the deceased is also a citizen of the United States of America, USA, we have written to the Consul General of the U.S. Consulate in Lagos, Claire Pierangelo, to also intervene by using diplomatic channels in ensuring justice for Abuda”.

Similarly, late Dennis Abuda’s old Boy’s association, St John’s College, Fugar, also came out in large numbers to honour the passage of its staunch supporter and great mobiliser.

In another development, the Chairman of Etsako Central Local Government Area, John Osi Akhigbe, has been commended by the FPU for immortalising Abuda by renaming the road to his residence in Fugar after him.

The council Chairman also named Etsako Central Local Government Event Hall after Dennis Abuda.

A statement by the FPU signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Mr Solomon Obomighie, also called on Edo State government to immortalise Abuda and most importantly use his death as an opportunity to put an end to the Security nightmare in the land.

Late Prince Dennis Abuda ‘s burial event was witnessed by many sympathisers from and abroad, who thronged the family house to catch a glimpse of the situation.

Prince Dennis Abuda, who died at 63 years old, left behind a wife and two sons.
