In any human endeavors, there is always a need to place a pen on the sterling achievements of the enthusiast, who devotes himself to serving humanity and always has it as a requisite to bring development into any system one maybe well-timed to rescue. Summarily, the current NBAIS Registrar/CEO resumed office in June, 2023 and engrossed with many upheavals in the system that demand a gigantic and holistic stride to be resolved strategically. It is an indisputable fact that the board had no establishment waiver, staff regularization with Office of the Head Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), staff career progression and having a rule – of – thumb system of examination conduct among other inimical organizational irregularities.

Owing to the foregoing flashback, upon resumption, the giant had been engraved with a restless mind of finding solutions to the numerous anomalies to their end.
The board’s staff suffered a protracted stagnation due to inability of the board to pursue the flight of securing vacancies from the concerned authorities for the staff service development.
The registrar/CEO flagged off his unprecedented step by exerting much effort to ensure regularizing the board’s staff with the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) devoid of which could tantamount to non – inclusion of the board’s personnel cost into annual national appropriation. Triumphantly, all staff were regularized and authorization waiver granted to the board.
Furthermore, under his passionate leadership an effort was tailored towards perfecting the requirement of an annual budget circular for staff promotion vacancy waiver which was successfully entertained and turned out with over 3,000 vacancies for 2024 staff promotion. In this exercise, the board was able to get more than 3, 000 staff promoted and placed accordingly.
Concurrently, the board strived again for the 2025 budget circular in which it was able to get hold of more vacancies than the previous year. As at 17th November, 2025 the Registrar/CEO had championed the hitch – free conduct of staff promotion examination for 3,500 staff via CBE as one of the apparatus of test. Tribute to his administration excellence was the staff jubilation that followed after the 2024 staff promotion arrears upon cool evening alerts. This set the atmosphere of the board out of smoke – screen and actualized their longtime dream.
Being the board’s major mandate, the conduct of Senior Arabic and Islamic Secondary School Examination (SAISSCE) is now far advanced in terms of questions standard, packaging and the entire examination conduct. The system is well developed and free from avoidable irregularities. The product packaging by extension yields more enrollees to the examination and stakeholders’ respect amidst the certificate recognition by the National University Commission (NUC), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) as well as diverse higher institutions of learning.
While aggressively hitting in rejuvenating effective service delivery from the staff to post up to date staff conduct at work, the Chief Executive Officer with the support of his able management, ensured the inauguration of SERVICOM. Purposely, the unit set the phase of re-modeled operational standard of service delivery by the board.
Nevertheless, in an effort to strengthen effective human capital management and safeguard the best practice in the board’s administrative process, the logical administrator upholds the principle of sustaining a corrupt – free environment for workers to thrive through the quintessence of providing an enabling ground for Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit under the auspices of Independent Corrupt Practice Commission (ICPC) in the board to eliminate corrupt practices if any.
The board, under Professor Yahuza Imam’s amiable leadership was able to consolidate both intra and inter industrial relations between the board and the concerned ministries and MDAs. However, being union friendly, the registrar – Professor Yahuza Imam supported the galvanization of staff union and grants them fair hearing in the event of staff concern. This initiative is aimed at having a clear consonance between his administration style and the general staff of the board which astonishingly turned out to be compatible.
The board and the staff are frankly quite lucky to have a leader per excellence, who has human at heart and selflessly engross himself in identifying the right and the best fit for the board’s mandates and the staff. It had been testified that the board is conspicuously witnessing an advanced stage of development in all aspects that beyond any reasonable doubt placed a giggling smile on the faces of the staff.
NASU – NBAIS branch hilariously acknowledged your kind gesture for your instantaneous response to the demands of the staff matters whenever a call is made for that purpose. Consequently, we appealed for your continuous understanding and devotion towards making the board stand the test of time. May Allah (SWA) grant you more wisdom to exploit more formidable ways of driving the board to its highest peak.
