Nigeria Police Gets New Force Spokesman, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin

The Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, has been named as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), replacing DCP Muyiwa Adejobi.

Hundeyin, who has served as spokesperson for the Lagos Command since March 2022, is expected to assume the national role at Force Headquarters in Abuja.

CSP Hundeyin boasts of a robust communication and security background.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in English Language from Lagos State University, an M.Sc. in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan, and professional training in Civil–Military Coordination from Jaji’s leadership institute.

Previously, he was appointed Lagos State Police PRO in March 2022, replacing DP PRO Ajisebutu, and has since served effectively as the voice of the Lagos command.
His professional affiliations include the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, the International PR Association, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria.
Notably, he served in the UN–AU Mission in Darfur, further enhancing his international peacekeeping and public engagement credentials.

The transition places CSP Hundeyin at the national communications helm of the Nigerian Police Force.

Hundeyin is taking over from DCP Adejobi, who has been posted to the Delta State Police Command as Head of Operations.

He had first been appointed as Force PRO in an acting capacity in February 2022, taking over from CP Frank Mba, before his confirmation later that year by former Inspector-General of Police Usman Alkali Baba (Rtd).

The Nigerian Police Force has described Adejobi’s redeployment as part of routine administrative adjustments within the force.
