The National Chairman of South, West, East and North of Nigeria, SOWENON, initiative, Dr Sam Jenfa, has emphasized the need for citizens to support the policies and programmes of President Tinubu’s renewed hope Agenda.
Dr Jenfa made the appeal in an interview with newsmen in Abuja, while appraising the progress made so far in the implementation of the policies under Tinubu’s administration.
He called on Security agencies to intensify efforts in combating terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry, which continue to endanger socio-economic activities across the country.
The SOWENON Chairman noted that the prevailing security challenges are depriving citizens of the benefits of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda programmes.
“Many farmers in the north and southern regions are unable to access their farmlands to harvest produce, while several pupils in the North-East have been forced out of school due to insecurity and banditry”.
Dr. Jenfa called on the government at all levels to identify and bring to justice those allegedly sponsoring terrorism, while also urging heads of security agencies to cleanse their institutions of bad elements undermining national security.
He also appealed to Nigerian students to take advantage of the Federal Government’s Student Loan Scheme, which he said would help children of the less privileged attain higher education as done in developed countries of the world.
Dr. Jenfa charged authorities overseeing the Student Loan Scheme to ensure that genuine students in tertiary institutions benefit from the program as intended.
He emphasized the need for Nigerians to remain patient, assuring that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda would soon bring relief to rural communities and improve the lives of citizens hence the need for continued support.
According to him, the SOWENON Initiative is ready to collaborate with like-minded groups to sensitize Nigerians and create mass awareness on the various programs of the current administration for the benefit of the people.
Our Correspondent reports that the briefing was graced by some Exco members including the Deputy Chairman, Economy, Elder Taiwo Shobajo.
